Shaving Cream Fight

Yesterday was full of fun little girl goodness.

My kids' half sister, Gracie, is in 1st grade and she came over to spend the day and night.

It was a memorable day re-visiting a time when my own kids were her age.   We had all kinds of boredom busting adventures.

We broke out the Bare Minerals and played makeup and hair salon.  She was amazingly still while I applied eyeliner.

I clipped up her hair up and she looked like a a mini Mod model from the 60's.

Her doll, Bella, received a little makeover as well.

We also built a living room fort with chairs, sheets and blankets.

The cat hightailed it outside because she was over her living room being taken over.

I decided that it would be fun to sit Gracie down at the kitchen table and we could both play with shaving cream.  This was a favorite for my kids when they were shortstacks and I believe that nobody is too old to enjoy it.

Grace drew a picture of her mom, Danielle in the shaving cream:

I know that she looks like she has a black eye here, but that is just her lovely eye shadow.

I think it all started with the mustaches.  I am certain that my daughter, Isabella, was trying to tell me I am overdue for a waxing.  Wouldn't you agree that this picture is probably one of my most flattering shots?

Look out, America's Next Top Model!

Here, I am waiting for Bell to break out into song and dance with "Springtime for Hitler"
from The Producers.

Things quickly took a turn shortly after this photo.

A hilariously crazy fun shaving cream fight.

This stuff was everywhere.

All over the kitchen,

The bathroom,

All over us.

After the epic Ithaca Shaving Cream Fight, we lined up for baths and showers.

Then settled in to watch Dolphin Tale.  Or was it Free Willy?  One of those.

Gracie was passed out around 9pm after dramatic readings of Ferdinand the Bull, Balto and
 How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

I think I was passed out shortly after that!

Get out there and have some fun this Sunday.

  2. Love this! I need to let go sometime and just let my girls go wild and get messy. I sometimes get so focused on keeping everything clean I forget to "let my hair down" and have some fun. Thanks for the reminder ;)
